Science & Technology

Science and technology embody two key project types for Capital, laboratories and advanced bio or high tech spaces.

Most of our laboratory work is on college campuses as part of research or teaching facilities and also includes many of our lower education projects include science building components. These types of facilities are unique in their technical needs requiring specialized expertise within the mechanical and plumbing disciplines.

Capital has developed an extensive portfolio of projects including laboratories for wastewater/treatment facilities, commercial laboratories, research laboratories, medical labs, vivariums, crime/forensic labs as well as advanced technology/clean rooms and similar project types for commercial facilities within the high tech industry and universities.

Additional expertise in USP 797 compliant pharmaceutical (compounding laboratory) environments, NIH, and FDA certified designs are included in the project portfolios.

Critical Environments

Because failure is not an option

Heavy duty MEP for critical environments

Capital has an extensive portfolio in engineering critical environments specifically data centers for which we have developed optimization modeling. These are highly valuable areas where failure is not an option.

A heavily instrumented environment uses a wireless mech network providing data which in-turn, allows a rapid update of a simulation tool using computational fluid dynamics, and allows us to quickly access hot spots and impacts on airflow, cooling capacity and distribution.

Capital uses this capability on all our data center projects to help us optimize these critical environments for our clients.
