Long Beach Unified School District

In 2008, Long Beach Unified School District passed the Classroom Repair, Student Safety Bond for a total of $1.2 billion. Of these Capital was awarded two new construction schools and one major high school placement project.

Roosevelt Elementary School provides approximately 46 classrooms in 4 building for a proposed enrollment of 1080 students. The campus will house the administration and special needs building with 2nd floor classrooms, a prekindergarten building, a 2-story classroom building with library, and a multipurpose building with food services and stage.

Newcomb Elementary School provides approximately 42 classrooms in 6 buildings for a proposed enrollment of 980 students. The campus will house the administration building, a library and kindergarten building, two 2-story classroom buildings, a gymnasium building, and a multipurpose building with food services and stage.

Browning High School Campus has 12 learning labs, 6 science labs, 2 technical education labs, 6 special education classrooms, a visual arts classroom and a band and choral room. The core learning facilities will house administration, media center, gymnasium, locker rooms, multipurpose room, food service facilities and custodial facilities.

Capital was contracted to provide CHPS standard level commissioning of all energy and water systems in addition to non-energy systems including building envelope and irrigation systems.
