LAX Midfield Concourse
Los Angeles International Airport Midfield Satellite Concours
Capital is delivering mechanical and plumbing engineering services for the new, multi phase construction of the $1.25 billion Midfield Satellite Concourse at Los Angeles International Airport.
Included in the scope of engineering services are all mechanical hydronic systems, air distribution, smoke control, and building automation systems for the new concourse.
The first phase of the project will focus on the northern section of the new concourse, as well as connections to a new annex building sited at the existing Tom Bradley International Terminal. The new 800,000 SF, five-level area will offer 11 new aircraft gates designed to accommodate next-generation, large aircraft. In the second phase, a southern wing will also be constructed. Underground tunnels will facilitate movement of passengers and baggage between the two concourses.
Service road and new taxi lanes will be integrated alongside utility lines and facilities for domestic water, fire suppression water, sanitary sewer, storm drains, natural gas, electrical, fuel and communications infrastructure. This project will be designed to meet or exceed LAWA’s sustainability guidelines as well as the Los Angeles Green Building Code and the LEED Silver for New Construction
