State Capitol East Annex Building
With the existing infrastructure in need of replacement, Capital was contracted by Carey & Co.,Inc. to provide site investigation, as-built documentation, engineering design, phasing and focused in-depth energy efficient strategies for the State Capitol Building.
Working closely with DGS and BPM, Capital has become intimately familiar with the mechanical and plumbing infrastructure of the State Capitol Building. The overall goal is to “Green” the Capitol through energy efficiency projects and improvements in the maintainability of the equipment. The current phase of work involves the replacement of the distributed fan rooms that serve large sections of each floor.
Each fan room is being completely demolished and replaced with new, up-to-date and energy efficient equipment and controls. Replacing the fan room equipment sets the stage for future renovation work in the offices occupied by the Senateand Assembly members as well as the Department of Finance and the Governor. Thanks to careful planning, working nights and weekends, and the use of temporary heating and cooling systems, the work is being completed with no interruption to the daily operation of the building.
